I got to drive a Fiero GT with a Cadillac Northstar swap. Stupid fun. I bet a supercharged 3.8 would be a blast to drive and probably be a little more streatable than a Northstar.

If you are leaving it stockish, the LS2 is totally fine and will save you a bunch of money up front. If you are going heavy mods, especially blower, the LS3 is the way to go.

1500lb car with a super-charged V6 directly over the rear wheels? Yes, please. I had a '95 Grand Prix with a 3100 in it, had to do an engine swap when the original went bad. The new one I bought only had 76k miles on it, but a couple years later I had to scrap it because the entire rear subframe was gone. It only had 91k on it when I got rid of it. I wish I never got rid of that engine, it would have fit so nice in a Fiero, even without a super charger, it would have given that little car such a boost over the Iron Duke and the 2.8. Not nearly anything close to this, but would still have been nice.

I have used Fram oil filters for 65 years and have never had a failure due to oil filter issues. So, it goes back to this. The best product is the one "you" use and have had success with. It's Fram forever for me.

I did the 3800 swap but needed a new SC to get full boost back in 2006, I had no idea when I started what a hodgepodge it would end up being...Beretta/Corsica brakes, Buick 3800 engines and a bunch more GM bits. I sold my 2M6 to be responsible (and get a 4dr Saturn) and miss it everyday😪

As an owner of a new 1985 GT V6 Manual Fiero, back in the day, I approve this.

I've been swapping my L67 supercharged 3800 around to different vehicles for about 10 years... Started in the GTP then moved to a 97 lumina for almost 8 years till the suspension rotted out and it was gonna be between a fiero or what I ended up putting it in... A 99 Monte Carlo... Only reason I didn't do the fiero was I'm 6'4 and I've ridden in them before....I don't drive a fiero so much as wear it lol

I continue to have nothing but problems with my 2000 c5 too many to list) but the latest is the traction control/active handling/abs light is coming on constantly. Also the drivers side pop up headlight does not go up when I turn on the headlights. This has been an issue since day one. I paid twice to have it fixed. The first time they put in a new motor and the second time installed a little plastic piece that looked like a tooth (not sure what it's called). The light worked a few times but now is not popping up at all. At this point I feel like I'm putting lipstick on a pig but I've had about $6,000 worth of work done on the vehicle (including parts) and the initial purchase was 15.5 K so I feel like I have a lot of time and money invested and I won't be able to find a buyer until I take care of these basic things that any Corvette buyer would be expecting to work so......any tips??

Down here on the Gulf Coast there's a gentleman named Freddy pendarvis who was in the fiero club who had a 4.3 turbocharged fiero. Now that thing was fast the front end was in the air for the first 100 ft at the strip. I'm sure him being in his 70s and being a lifelong machinist had something to do with all the one-off parts for the car.

1:55 I worked at Pontiac at that time. Believe me, it was NOT a 'sports car". Calling it an attempt was a stretch.

This is great. I just came across your channel. If you have space consider putting some sort of a fuel line cooler. Dropping fuel temp can be as helpful as an air intercooler.

I have a 2007 3LT Z51 Atomic Orange Metallic only 11k original miles. Just put a KnN cold air intake on. Really a big difference the stock was so restrictive imo. I also have a 96 coupe Z51 and a 95 convertible. I put on SLP air intakes big difference imo

It would have been nice if you had included the C6 Z06 with LS7 engine in your comparisons.

You have a very interesting, well thought out Fiero. Well done. How hard was it so shoehorn the Buick 3.8 litre engine into a Fiero? What kind of brand, type and viscosity of oil and transmission fluid are you using in it?

Atmosphere doesn’t provide boost your engine is an air pump sucking in air.

2850 is damn light. Especially compared to modern “muscle” cars.

Now thats how gm should of built those, you did it right ,the way it should of been ! ,the 3800 was sitting there already at gm but dah dah how about we dump in x body powertrain stuff and dont worry about the volume of cold water coming down when.thermostat pops open thats what head gaskets are made for, extreme thermal reactions. Maybe use a extra layer of cardboard and smear extra silicone on it
